Welcome to Stirling’s first ever major Pride event! We are delighted to bring you the full details of Stirling Pride 2024 on the 21st September 2024. The day will see an array of events across multiple venues in the city, including our King Street Stage and Fubar Stage both in the City Centre and our Fubar Pride Market.

 In addition over 50 events will be taking place in the week between 14th and 22nd September and more details can be found by clicking here.

Stages

There will be two stages with live entertainment throughout the day.

The King Street Stage will be at the bottom of King Street next to the roundel and will have entertainment from 11am to 5pm.

 The Fubar Stage will be inside Fubar on Maxwell Place and will see musicians on stage between 11am and 4pm.

Fubar Pride Market

The Fubar Pride Market will be held on the ground floor of Fubar Nightclub on Maxwell Place.

This will host a wide array of local and national organisations and charities who will be providing information and advice on the services that they offer.

Rainbow Resilience

Exhibition runs from 16th Sept till 4th Oct.

Creative Stirling in collaboration with LGBT Youth Scotland and Youthlink Scotland deliver the new Lavender Lives 2.0 Exhibition which showcase works, ideas, passions and interests of young LGBTQIA+ young people from the Forth Valley. More information can be found here.

Glitter, Blowdries & Gender Affirming Hairstyles

Simpson & Co.,  6 King Street, Stirling

Simpson & Co. are offering hair styling, glitter stands and blowdries throughout the day. Additionally, they will be providing free consultations for anyone interested in changing their hairstyle or discussion gender-affirming haircuts and colours.

Gareth Where's Your Handbag (2024) Film Screening

The Smith Art Gallery & Museum. Albert Place, Stirling

Against the stunning backdrop of the Lake District, we embark on a journey through the heart of Cumbria, illuminating the ever-evolving landscape of queer culture acceptance and perception in the region. Gareth, where’s your handbag navigates the support for queer youth in small communities with contributions from Nova Gina, DropZone Youth and the public. This film, directed by Millie Johnson and produced by Joe Stebbens, brings to life the story behind Nova Gina, the drag persona of Gareth Irwin, originally from Larbert. The film will be played on a loop throughout the day.

Weave Traditional Tartan Coaster Workshop

Radical Weavers, Murray Place, Stirling

Discover the timeless craft of tartan weaving at Radical Weaver’s Traditional Tartan Coasters Workshop. Perfect for beginners, this hands-on workshop offers a unique opportunity to delve into the rich Scottish heritage, making it an ideal experience for those with Scottish ancestry or anyone interested in textile arts. In this engaging two-hour session, participants will master the basics of weaving on a 4-shaft table loom. You will create a set of 4 to 6 exquisite coasters, weaving with fine Shetland wool in the tartan pattern of your choice. Book at https://radicalweavers.org.

Rags to Bags Workshop

 Join maker Chris as she teaches you how to create your own bag from 'rags' in this drop-in session - no sewing required! This session is perfect for anyone aged 5 and over.

Rainbow Textiles Session

Local textile artist Audrey is running another of her ever-popular textiles workshops, this time with a rainbow twist! Come along to learn something new and have a good time doing it.

Unison NHS Forth Valley Branch Pride Hub

Outside M&S, Thistles Centre, Stirling

11am to 5pm

The Pride Hub will be manned by volunteers from Unison Forth Valley NHS Branch who will be able to give you information regarding the Pride event, when events are on, where to go and if you have any questions. They will also be on hand to give out programmes throughout the day.

Beat That Samba Band

Beat That will have a second performance outside at the Stirling Smith Art Gallery. 

Stirling Pizza Company

Stirling Pizza Company will be serving up incredible pizzas at the Stirling Reuse Hub to join in with their celebrations for Stirling Pride! 

Queer Climate Justice Community Forum

Hosted by Forth Valley Climate Action Hub in partnership with The Stirling Reuse Hub in celebration of Stirling Pride. Come together to hear from inspiring community speakers, engage in some mindful craft making and gather ideas and action for climate work in Forth Valley through a queer lens. Pride Pit Stop Youth Space

Creative Stirling, 44 King Street, Stirling

12pm to 4pm

Youth Space for those 13 to 25 years old with activities including banner making, Queering the Map, gaming corner, food waste tie-dye, leaf printing, origami and lots more. The Pride Pit Stop is being delivered as a partnership by LGBT Youth Scotland, Creative Stirling and Stirling Pride.

Neil's Hugs Foundation Quiet Space

Holy Trinity Church Hall, Albert Place, Stirling

1pm to 4pm

Neil’s Hug’s Foundation will be providing a quiet, safe space during Pride. Pop in for a cuppa, slice of cake a chat. A place for all ages to come if they are feeling a little overwhelmed. Neil’s Hugs Foundation run support groups across West Lothian and Clackmannanshire and are there to provide support and signpost you to relevant services if required.

Scottish Ambulance Service Pride Ambulance

Murray Place, Stirling

1pm to 5pm (subject to availability)

Come along and see the Pride Ambulance from Scottish Ambulance Service which will be parked on Murray Place during the Pride event. Scottish Ambulance Service staff will be on hand to answer any questions that you might have about the vehicle, their work and any careers advice. Open to all ages.

Bracelet Making

Holy Trinity Church Hall, Albert Hall, Stirling

1pm to 4pm

Pop in and spend some time doing the quiet and relaxing activity of bead bracelet making. These could be friendship bracelets, for yourself or for a loved one, just let your creativity run free and enjoy this free activity, open to all. 

Paul Michael Clark

Corn Exchange, Corn Exchange Rd, Stirling

7pm to 10pm

Paul Michael Clark has had an incredible rise from working in a call centre in Lanarkshire to touring the world as one of Shania Twain’s backing singers! Paul will be performing  at Corn Exchange as part of Stirling Pride and is sure to bring the house down with his incredible energy, high kicks and amazing vocals! One not to be missed! Open to 18+ only.

Mimi's Love Is Love Party with Allan Jay & Drag Performances

Mimi's, Stirling Arcade, Stirling

Come to Mimi’s and join Mimi’s Love Is Love Party Weekend which will see Proud Scotland Award’s Entertainer of the Year 2023, Allan Jay, bring his incredible vocals to Mimi’s! Allan Jay has performed around the world and has supported acts such as Venga Boys, Whigfield and N-Trance amongst many more! Tickets are priced at £10 and includes a glass of fizz on arrival. Subliminal Presents Ibiza Sessions

Showing Pride

Hotel Colessio

Hotel Colessio will be flying a number of Pride flags for the duration of the day in honour of Stirling Pride. The Hotel will also be serving Pride Cocktails with a donation going towards LGBTQ+ good causes.

Also a giveaway for their Wine Club Membership for first 10 people to buy a glass of wine in Pride Dress.

Stirling Castle

Stirling Castle will be flying the Pride flag for the duration of the day in honour of Stirling Pride. The flag will be visible from the Castle esplanade but for the best view, why not visit Stirling Castle which is open throughout the day with last entry at 5pm.

Old Town Jail

Stirling Old Town Jail will be flying the Pride Flag to mark Stirling Pride. Additionally, all staff will be wearing Pride Lanyards throughout the day. The Stirling Old Town Jail is a fantastic visitor attraction in the City and is well worth a visit and will be open from 10am to 5pm.

The National Wallace Monument

The National Wallace Monument is one of Stirling’s most iconic, and most instantly recognisable landmarks. For one night only, the National Wallace Monument will shine brightly at the foothills of the Ochils in bright rainbow colours especially for Stirling Pride from 7.30pm to 1am.

Tolbooth Stirling

The Tolbooth Stirling in the heart of Stirling’s Old Town will light up in rainbow colours from 7.30pm to late into the evening to celebrate Stirling Pride. 

University of Stirling

Stirling University will light up their link bridge at Campus Central in rainbow colours from 7.30pm.
